The Artifacts used through the comics

The Book of Shadows

The Book of Shadows is the Halliwells magical book and companion. The book contains spells, potion recipes and information on demons & supernatural beings.

The Book of Shadows also acts a witch's journal in order to write down her experiences and other info to pass on to the next generation.

Cupid Ring

A Cupid's ring is a magical artifact equipped to Cupids. With it they are able to fade, freeze, travel in and change the flow of time, create holograms and break down mental barriers against feeling love.

Scrying Crystal

A witch has the ability to scry in oder to find a lost

object or person. What must be done is hold a crystal pendant

over a map of the area where it is thought the lost person or

object will be and the crystal will point the location.

Soil from the Ancient Burial Ground

The soil collected from the Ancient Burial Grounds where the Hollow is being kept. It is a powerfull potion ingrediant that both helped revive the Source and later share its power with other demons and evil beings.

Phoenix Feather Quil

Shakespeare’s quil made of a Phoenix’s feather cursed Romeo and Juliet to meet marry and die in an endless cycle for over four hundred years.

The Grimoire

The Grimoire is the exact opposite of the Halliwell Book of Shadows. It belongs to the current leader of the Underworld. Like the Book of Shadows, the Grimoire possesses the power to protect itself from its enemies. Its spells and incantations are written in Latin.

Pyrite crystal

Pyrite Crystals are pure white crystals that resonate a harmonic tone when exposed to evil, kind of like a demonic alarm system.

Phosphorus Cauldron

A neutral vessel, strong enough to contain all forms of magic. It was used to vanquish the Source of All Evil, using magic of good beings from the Magical Community. Paige collected magic from the sisters, Coop, the magical beings in Magic School, mermaids, pixies, leprechauns, nymphs, unicorns and Billie.

Excalibur

A legendary sword which holds a tremendous amount of power. Only its true master can wield the swords true power rendering him invincible. The current wielder of Excalibur is Piper and Leo's eldest son, Wyatt Halliwell. Piper can also wield the sword but can't pull it from the stone. Excalibur was used to weaken the Source in order to vanquish him.

Darklighter's Crossbow

Darklighters are equipped with crossbows, which they can summon into their hands at any time. The Darklighter crossbow arrows are coated with a special type of poison that is especially lethal to Whitelighters.

Apple from the Tree in Neena's failed Higher Realm

The apple was the only apple left on the withered tree in Neena's failed Higher Realm. The Angel of Destiny used it to escape. A bite from it is the only known way for someone to escape this realm. Cole revealed that these kind of apples are illusions.

While the AOD escaped by biting it, Piper fainted after she bit the apple that Cole gave her.

Spheres of Light and Dark

The orbs are kept inside the Vault in the Upper Regions. Neena plans to use them to unite the Underworld and the Heavens. The orbs seem to be a very important part of her plans

The Sphaera of Light and Dark

The Blue and Red orbs found in the vault of "Up There" were united into one sphere by Neena after she casted a latin spell. The unification of the two spheres are meant to unite the Underworld and the Heavens and create a new world. Before that happened the sphaera was divided by the Warren witches , the Elders and Leos sword.

Cupid Bow

This kind of bow is used by Cupids but lately it seems they are not used often by them. One arrow can spread love. If an arrow hits a demon the love it emits can weaken him.

Empyreal Sword

Leo found the Empyreal sword inside the Vault and fought with it against Neena's army of demons. The sword and wings that came with it are now part of him.

Great idea! Love it. I wonder, though, how you figured that that book was The Grimoire. Leo took The Grimoire away at the end of Season 4, didn't he? FYI, I haven't yet read Issue #7 so if it's explained in there, don't tell me :p

Other than that, great job, Jay :)

no its not expained but i figured it was the grimoire. reviving the source was such a big spell, only a dark book like the grimoire could have a spell like that. Probably neena or hogan or any other demon got it back

I think Leo destroyed the most powerful Grimoire.

Just like there are many book of shadows, I think it's safe to assume there are multiple grimoires.

You're, there should be more than one Grimoire out there :-)

However, Kostas, I noticed a mistake: Piper CAN take Excalibur out of its stone -- she does it in "Sword and the City" and in "Unnatural Resources". But she's not the Sword's wielder: she's the Lady of the Lake: the Swors's guardian until the wielder is ready. This is the reason the Sword's power gets to her head: because she isn't meant to handle its power.

    Hope it helps :-)

no she does it once only to handle it to wyatt in sword and the city. in unnatural resources she specifically says she will take the sword after her son pulls it out.

Right, I overlooked that fact, but she's still not the destined wielder. She was only able to take it out of the Stone in SatC so she could pass it on to Wyatt.

@Kostas I think that was an error on the writer's part. If Piper took the sword out of the stone before, why not again?

Did anyone find it odd that the sisters kept Excalibur in the attic. The set where most demons attack. What if Phoebe was flung around the attic and hit her head on the stone, that would be bad. The basement would've been a more appropriate spot for Excalibur.

@Mr. Jay I love the pages! You did an awesome job! Keep it up.

this is what Paul the writer said:
I believe the ability to remove it transferred to Wyatt when he wielded the sword at the end of the episode. Just my opinion.

    HalliwellManor (Monday, 07 March 2011 17:10)

@Terry EXACTLY RIGHT. The reason Piper was able to wield the sword in Sword and the City was because the Lady of the Lake was killed, she appeared to Piper to inform her it is her job to care for the sword until the real king, Wyatt, is ready to wield it.

@Courtney How would the basement be more appropriate? That is where the Nexus could be accessed before it was banished. Also, if it was stored in the basement, while vanquishing Zankou, it would have been destroyed.

On the page from the Grimiore with the different symbols, does the fifth one look like a rabbit by a bush to anyone? or is it just me?

    Terry (Sunday, 20 March 2011 15:38)

Yeah, in Issue 4, they throw one at the door of the attic so the hexed innocents can't get in.

And in Issue 5, they're used to summon Grams.
